Im working part time at my local toyota dealership to help get through college. I dunno if the owner of this car is on here or not if so i hope he or she doesnt mind i post photos. So one of the techs is working on this car and i stroll by and since im a bit nerdish when it comes to MK3s i started looking at the tags and what not when my eyes pass by the frame number. MA70-00000389 i thought i was seeing things at first. I dunno how common this is but this is the earliest 86.5 Supra ive ever seen. Built Jan 1986. Whats weird is all the correct guages are there MPH etc but the oil pressure guage is not in PSI which was weird.

Anyways just thought id share. Has anyone else seen really early cars? Before this the 86.5s i saw were like in the 10xxx already.

Looks pretty clean too. I found an uber early one locally that was just sitting in someone's yard getting eaten by weeds and sinking into the ground. Tried to buy it for some of the parts on it, but they weren't really interested. Last I knew it got hauled off for scrap :(

Nice find man, friend of mine is pretty obsessed with the really LATE Mk2's that were made around late 1985 as 1986 models. I think he might have one of the last ones made...

Hello Fellas,
I see that there is still a lot of interest in the MKIII's (MA70's). Mine (8108) is currently in shop under rebuild and repair. Now, my question is to everyone is this VIN# considered one of the first rare new gen models and can you tell me when it was built for rarety purposes? Let's keep'em alive.

His cluster is exactly the same as mine. Reads Kg/cm for oil pressure. I'll take a look at my frame number when i have the time

Does this mean im 157 in 1990 :)
No in fact your car may be one of the last 1990 models built. Production for our cars start in Aug and ends in July. For example the 1988 model year started in Aug 87 ended in July 88.
