well, as we all know with a safc or similar piggy back, on the 1jz ecu, were not getting more than 500-550 whp... were limited to 550's. after that, fuel management gets fairly expencive. now a 1jz/2jz can handle say... a 200 shot on top of that (dont get on here talking about how its too much spray... its not, end of story)

spraying the car means we dont need hella expencive fuel system upgrades, just another 120 dollar walbro. now what i'm concerned with is how the stock ecu would react to such an addition of fuel. i imagine with a wet kit with the correct jets. it should keep AFRS in the right spot... does anyone have any experience with big shots on the stock ecu?

OK
thats what i was wondering, I was thinking about going the same route as you except i'm not gonna spray a 200 shot, maybe 100 at the most. how do you know the 1jz/2jz can handle a 200 wet shot?

I'm not sure how your going to handle running a 200 shot on the stock ecu without pulling quite a bit of timing and fine tuning it. I would probley recommend running a greddy emanage blue. I believe you should beable to pull timing plus fine to it with a fuel map. Nitrous is kinda dangerous make sure you start with a small shot and work your way up to the big one.

Edit: I was also thinking about doing the same thing but only a 100 shot also. Are you on the stock twins or are you down to a single?

How do you figure an engine, ANY engine, with cast pistons is going to stand up to repeated 200hp shots of nitrous?

We're not talking a Chevy 350ci with over 800 sqmm of area to absorb the shock - we're talking a straight 6 ~185ci with just over 500 sqmm of area.

Can you do it? Sure. Will it be reliable? No.

As long as you wait to spray over 3500rpm, the ecu won't care (open loop)

of course they do.. they top my knowledge 10 fold about any internal combustion engine, at any given time, at any given day.

these guys wont post unless they know..

you cant afford to get to 700 HP with mods but you are risking your entire build with 200 shot?? flawed logic..

to all those that are griping about how dangerous nitrous is... have you actually had any experience with it?

That's a 10-4.

I don't recommend running a 150+ shot on our little 3.0L motors without a progressive controller, either.

i've seen people make the same mistake you are about to make.
but if you want to blow a few ring lands that's cool too. maybe just listen and not get so upset that people are trying to save you some time, money, and headaches .

Same here all my friends are nitrous junkies :nono: That would be a perfectly good waste of a 2jz

so do any of you care to answer the question at hand? the discussion is about how the ecu handles it, not the motor

I guess you missed it.
