speedometer gear difference?

Ok, I know there is a different one for each gearing, but what about between the auto and manual? or post and pre 89? Ive got like 3 or 4 in various G/R's but not 100% sure what they came out of, Iv'e got a 3.9 thats got a smaller gear and about 1/2 wide, then another thats a bigger diameter gear but about half the width.

I can only help by offering that the W58's speedo drive gear is larger in diameter than the R154's.

From looking into the parts before. (Swapped a turbo 3.909:1 LSD diffy into my '89NA with 4.300:1 LSD from factory)

R154 gears will not fit into a W58, however, the A340 gears are interchangeable. if I'd had an auto, I could have got gears to fit. The A340 gears don't fit in either the R154 or W58, from the information that I got.

Coles Notes:

W58 gears for W58 only.
R154 gears for R154 only
A340 gears okay between NA, pre '89 and post '89. swappable.
