Hey guys, Since there has been some discussion on whether to use solid motor mounts or the factory ones. I went and designed some that it think will work. Have a look and see what you guys think.
I machined them from 3" T6 aluminum, I used a 1/2 " piece of machined down hockey puck as the vibration absorber. Put together there is 1/4" of compressible travel after the hockey puck is compressed into place. Hopefully the solid rubber of the hockey puck will take our the sharp vibration's. This is for the 89 Supra I am helping my son build. It has been gone for a month now, went out for paint and body work. (search supaflyride for the original story)

I come from a land down under
Can't see how these are meant to work if they compress the puck and stop at the shoulder on the upper aluminium piece? (would make them a solid mount)

Using a through bolt doesn't allow for independent movement of upper and lower so will transmit the vibrations.

After the puck is compressed there is still 1/4" of gap left so the upper and lower pieces sit only on the puck.
