Situation: I'm moving to Korea for two years and must sell my MA70. And I'm bringing back a true JDM car.
But which one???? :1zhelp:

Choices:
Supra (JA70 2.5 Twin Turbo R)
p1637125_1.jpg

Skyline (Hakosuka or Kenmeri GT-R)
p1637125_2.jpg

p1637125_3.jpg

Or others? Suggest something!
I'm also considering some of the earlier wagons... I've got two years to search!

I'm looking for a RWD Japanese nostalgic:

Personally, I wouldn't get ANYTHING that has already been here? So no Supras, 86's, ect. Get something that has no us counterpart or that has been imported into Canada and the gray registered here. My Friend has a Motorex imported R32 that was a royal PITA to get here and out of that mess. It sucks that he went to all that trouble to get it and now their is a flood of illegal ones from Maple land. Besides what is the point of getting a car that is already here just so you can sit on the other side of the car?

This. Why buy something you can already get here? Go for something unique. That said, I'm almost positive that I've seen one of those Crown Pickups in the junkyard just outside of town here... May have just been the Toyota pickup of that year, but looked more car than truck to me.

Oh, and nice post Scotty. :)

scotty, awesome post. i've seen most of those cars in person :) down in california. I should have been more specific. I want a classic japanese coupe or (imo) the ultimate supra...

i love the fat ass on a classic jdm coupe... but that supra gives me chills.

post more coupes!

Hakosukas are expensive! at least the 2000GT-R varient with the S20 as those things are rare. Finding non rusted classics like those posted above though is quite hard. Not sure how many youll find in Korea though.

This is a Supra website though and i vote Supra or a MZ20 Soarer.

agreed, half the cars listed +/- are hard to find, let alone in good condition..

it's hard enough to find a Hakosuka Skyline in decent condition, and I dare say extremely hard to find a Hakosuka GT-R period (most are clones). though if one did manage to find one, they used to go for ~3-5 million yen.

there are so many other JDM cars that are far newer and easier to get parts for and so forth.. I'd vote for something like a JZX90/100(-Chaser/Cresta/MKII), MZ20 Soarer, ST205 GT4, for Toyota products. For Nissan, R32/33/34 GT-R, Stagea, S15 Silvia, Laurel, Cedric/Gloria.

old school skyline ftw, but good luck sending it here. from what i understand, they don't let them go without a fight.

. . .

well, I won't even ask why you woke this thread, but the 2000GT wasn't made in high quantities and has sold anywhere from $300-650k, so I doubt you'd just see one around other than in a collectors garage or museum.
