Didn't need to be done that way Ryan, all you needed to do was plumb each port to one side of the TB, I used one of these a few years back with a simple adaptor and there's an earlier 89 year one that has 5/8th barbs on it already so no adaptor needed.

Looks exactly the same as that one but has 2x 5/8th barbs on it Ryan, I have one here so will snap a pic later on when I go out to the shed.
Mine have seemed to be fairly reliable but the flange mount ones have a bit of a reputation of dying.
