I gave my intercooler a nice big crack a couple days ago. Today I took it off to get ready to replace it and I noticed that if you rotate the upper pipe it lines up pefectly with the lower pipe coming from the turbo. Even the shape of the pipe wraps around components nicely.
Do you think Toyota intended this and then decided to add an intercooler?
Also is it ok to drive without one? If so, then I dont have to put on an extra aftermarket one I have with crappy piping while I save up for the driftmotion kit.
The car idled and drove fine with it off, I think it even boosted higher maybe?

Will it run, yes. Hotter intake temps. By how much I don't know. I wouldn't be ragging on the car until you do get another one. I'd wanna keep the temps down while driving it like that. Good luck.

Just puts him that much closer to HG blowing detonation, I'd take the arm off the WG while it's like that and drive it gently.

Yikes!
Ok Im slapping on that spare intercooler tomorrow! at least while I get the kit.

You don't need an intercooler, Turbo Z31 300zx's didn't come with them, so did a couple other cars, however they do run hotter, and you need to keep your boost low, so if you have a boost controller, set it low..
