Ok i have been getting code 21 and 43. Code 21 is o2 sensor related and i have changed it with a new Denso o2. Code 43 is STA signal and is rare code .... i cant find much info on it. However my starter has been acting funny so i ran a push button start just to see if its the starter its self or something else. I have it installed from the fuse box, to the button, and then to the starter. When i push the button sometimes i get the "clicking" noise and sometimes she starts right up. I have another starter on the way.

She idles really weak ....but when i get on it she still feels really normal like nothing is wrong and she does not stall.:1zhelp:

Did not have the code 43 before the push button and they did not appear until almost a week after i installed it.

I took the battery out for about 30 mins the other day ...... that should have cleared the codes right? I know you are supposed to pull the EFI fuse but i was thinking pulling the battery would have the same effect correct me if i am wrong

Redacted per Title 18 USC Section 798
Disconnecting the battery will clear codes.

The ECU needs to know when the engine is being cranked. Code 43 is caused by no 12 volt signal at the STA (start) terminal of the ECU while cranking. The signal comes from the same circuit/wire that makes the starter work, which of course comes from the start section of the ignition switch. Look at the schematic. Assuming the wiring is OK your button should have back fed the signal and satisfied the ECU so it sounds like a wiring or connection problem. Either way you need to troubleshoot the starter circuit until you get 12 volts on STA when the key is turned to start.

None of this will effect idle btw...

Code 21 can also be a wiring issue...you will have to trace for continuity.

should the button be spliced into the factory plug that supplies power to the starter? I have the factory wire tied up and not connected.
