Oh yeah, super bad. I ran just the 1 cross bipe on my 7m and it was very unhealthy for charge temps. I can't imagine running that much of my inlet over the motor. Not so nice!
I would agree with you on the comment about changing the entire inlet setup, form IC pipes to manifold all together. Ultimately though I would ask Steveo how much money and effort he wants to poor into that motor.
From the little I know about the 1g, it's only good for around 300hp. If a 7M or 1J is more available and whatnot possibly a better option. On the other hand perhaps you super dig the 1G? It would be pretty sweet to do a single turbo conversion, then cams with like a shortrunner intake. Possibly ITB's and rev that sucker to like 12,000 rpms. Do some super short intercooler pipes so you got little to now build time and no giggle in your blow off valve. Be pretty sick. :naughty:
