So it got me to thinking that if my car wieghs about 3800 and the Z is about 3350 (D-450) and stock a 07 Z has 306hp 268Trq im assuming these numbers are Flywheel (took them from internet sources) how much HP/Trq would i have to have to beat the Z?

I don't think theres anyway im making that much power to have more then the 350 and thats why im confused but on a reg. basis i can beat them around here.

I put my car on the loaded Mustang dyno and it laid down 255 at 10 psi. A customer was in the shop looking to turbocharge his Z. The operator said to him they lay down 210 rwhp consistently on the Mustang dyno. Don't try to factor the difference between the Dynojet and Mustang. Just note the difference in power and ignore the factory numbers.

I was under the impression that curb weight was as driven, with full fluids. I believe our cars have a 750lb cargo/passenger capacity, and if I remember correctly, the door sticker says something along the lines of 4450lbs. Take out 750lbs, you end up ~3700lbs, which is consistent with what I've learned from the scales on my car...

The heaviest MA70 curb weight is 3640. 18.5 gallons of fuel is not counted in the curb weight. Fuel is 6.6 lb/gal I think. GVWR is as mentioned. The weight of the car, plus all the weight it can handle safely which is 4450 or something like that. I am pretty sure most people here now know the GVWR isn't the car weight.

Nick, I believe last time I weighed mine, it was with myself, my tools, a full tank of gas, one extra gallon of oil, one extra gallon of coolant. Came out to about 3800, with me being ~120 of that. So that sounds about right, car alone would be around 3600-ish loaded.

Is your car auto? Take a trip to the strip and see what it does. Find out what your car weighs, factor in your trap speed, and see roughly how much horsepower your car is making. You can bench race all day, but hard data is better.

Year, make and model? The later crossover cars were heavier still. Road and Track put the 89 hard top with a 5 speed on a scale and it was 3772 with a curb weight listed at 3620.There is about 40 lbs not accounted for if you take out the fuel weight. Threads like this make me think I should give it up and install an LS3. The 7M is fantastic in a MA67.

Hardtop at 3772 holy Jesus !!! I don't even want to know about my targa. It does suck having all the wieght but i still manage to beat cars and run what with things that I shouldn't have been able to with the lights mods I have.

But my car has good days and very bad ones where it just doesn't seem the same

I weighed in at ~3350 without driver and 1/4 tank last time at the scales.. However, I've installed a lot of lighter weight parts and removed a decent amount of others. Still has full interior with A/C, so it's not super crazy.

340whp and 310wtq

I remember reading maybe like 4 years ago or more that some guy had his car down to 2800. A seena few on ehre get below 3k but it took a lot fo work and was nowhere near the comfort of a daily.

The ~2800lb car was Global Threat, and while there wasn't much left on the car, it must be/have been a blast to drive.

I don't see a mk3 getting much under 3200-3300 without losing a decent amount of the amenities.

Id really like to weigh my car now that i have the 1jz and have ditched a few things. IDk if i will really lose much weight tho and idk where i can weigh it at?

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!! i am 300#s thats why i HAVE a supra fat car fat driver and extra horse power!!! My buddy in a 240zx with a SR motor worries about every pound to the point i think he takes exlax the day before he runs.

Some of those like to burn oil as well. So who knows how worn the motor is.

And then there is always the driver. Could have been a 16 yr old kid.

Or he could have been 300lbs with a full tank and lots of weight in the car.

Wasnt talking shit. Just saying for the factor of power to weight. Thats why horse jockeys are so small and light.

My roommate has 240 and worries about weight as well. Those cars are fragile its not even funny. There rear subframe weighs like 10-15lbs.

Put a 2JZ in a S13 if you want to be scared with 400HP. Some people say, "Oh, 400HP is not that much for my Supra. My BPU 2JZ in my MKIII does that."

Really? Drop a stock 2JZ with everything from the Aristo in a S13, then get back to me. Those cars are dangerous with 400HP.

Look at BigDaddy's son, he has a 2JZ S14 that did 10.6 or 10.7 on street tires spinning. :aigo:

I have a spare 1JZ sitting here. My friend just bought a RB25 to put into his S14 and I am helping him with it. I am highly contemplating putting that 1JZ in the S13 shell I have with all the pretty upgrades.....the car guys around here would love to see that race.....basically same weight car and same size motor....:aigo:

Only thing about putting a iron block in the s chassis is it makes them nose heavy. Which if all you do is street driving doesnt really matter.

the power I have now would be scary as hell in an s-chassis.. S13 weighs like 2700lbs IIRC, so it doesn't take a whole lot to make it a deathtrap lol

my buddy put a singled 450whp RB25 into his that would spin entirely though third gear at any given time

on a side note, I always imagine the thrill of having even something like 300whp in a 240z (2350lb curb weight)..
