Have a 87T with the original motor but have a quick question about the difference between a n/a and turbo power steering pump and pulley. Are they the same size or big difference?

Same. Just the resivours are different between tuebo and na. Rest of the steering system is the same.

Are you changing the pump? If your pump is noisy and the power steering goes in and out, check the screen in the bottom of the reservoir. They can clog up and act like the pump is bad. If it is clogged, remove the screen and add an inline filter. I don't know if you even have a problem but I thought I would throw this up here in case you do.

Clean the screen by back flushing the res. do not remove it. You can add an inline filter such as a magnafine if you'd like as well.

Just curious, why not remove it? My buddy tried to flush his out, even tried a blow gun and it didn't work so he removed it and put one inline. When it happened to me I just switched to a N/A reservoir.

Cause the screen works really well. It's why you never see a inline filter on any stock car.

Throw some acetone or brake cleaner or purple power and shake it around and then blow backwards. Like through the bigger tube end. If you blow down where cap hole is its not going to go through.

I've cleaned them before and they come clean. Not in 5 seconds but they will. All the stuff that's been built up there has been doing so for 20 years so that needs to be taken into account as well.

Thanks for the help!! The pump is newish got it off eBay but its a n/a pump. Only reason I ask though is cause the power steering really whines didn't know if it cause of the pulley being from a n/a or just need to bleed the system
Thanks again for the help

If people say the pumps are the same is it possible to just swap the pulley? Be a lot easier if I could
