Hey everyone, I'm brand new to this forum, and I just bought a 1986.5 MK3 7MGE NA, and theres a few problems I had questions about. First, sometimes when you go to open the door, the alarm triggers. Wtf is that? I replaced the battery and the terminals and it is still happening! Also, no power steering. Everytime i fill it up, it just instantly looses pressure. Should I replace the power steering pump and see if that works? I cant tell where its leaking from, but im really hoping its not coming from the steering rack. What do you guys think the next course of action for both of these things is? Thanks!
Try unlocking the door from passengers side and see if it goes off.
For the leak need to look where it's leaking from. Could be pressure hose or return hose. Usually a rack or pump won't piss it out as soon as you fill it.
