Hullo? Hullo? I know there's someone out there that can take a pic of this for me, or at least TELL me what is different about them. I need to buy one and I have to make sure I have the correct one. HALP

The GTE one has an Brown shaft where it bolts to the water pump and looks like it's on Steroids compared the the GE one.

What exactly do you need a pic. of? The fan clutch, just the pulley, or both? I have them off of my other car, and can take some pics tomorrow for ya.
OK, well this is a 5M waterpump pulley:
I just need to know if the 7M pulley is relatively the same (but with the 4 belt rib pattern instead of the 5M's 7 rib)

Oh, I just realized what you want. I have a customer's mkii('85) at the shop(one of those 1/2 done, please finish this for me, motor is kind of in, harness is just laying there, nightmare inducing type projects I happily forget about). I'll see if the 7m pulley fits with the 5m w.p. and fan, and let you know.

I'll be looking for a 7M crank soon, but I also needed this and had to figure out what differences there were in the GE and GTE ones, and if they were/were not compatible.

Do you need a pulley? I'm going to my storage in the morning, I'm almost positive I have two or three. I'll send you one, just tell me where.

I'd help you out with a crank out of my 86.5 n/a, but its not in good shape. Knuckle head I got it from drove it with spun bearings, and trashed the journals to a point where I wouldn't risk using it.

Yep the GTE one is tuned for the 10 blade fan and the GE for the 7 blade so you need the correct fan/clutch combination.
GTE moves a crap load more air.
Made the mistake of using a GTE fan on one of my earlier 5Ms one time. Waterpumps failed repeatedly after that until I put the 5M fan back on, it was strange. 1st time the WP failed, the shaft had come out and was pushing the fan closer and closer to radiator. Other times it seemed the bearings were locking up.

Ok, so the mkii I have at the shop is an '85 model, but it has a motor out of an '83 in it. I called my parts people, and everyone said the water pumps are the same from 82 to 85.

The last one is them stacked. The holes all line up perfectly. I have an extra crank pulley, if Defiant doesn't.
