Oil in spark plug holes...

I picked up a used engine and it has oil in the "valley" where the spark plugs screw into. Only two have the oil most of the way up the spark plug. The others look fine. How can I get the oil out? Just let it drip into the cylinders and let it smoke a little? Or how can I get it out of there?
Thanks

I come from a land down under
Motor not in the car yet?

Grab some gas pour it on to dilute the oil then spray with degreaser and wash off with the hose.

Blow any remaining water out with compressed air then replace the cam cover gaskets.

You might want to remove the cover over the plugs first.

Otherwise, remove what you can with paper towels. Then pour some laquer thinner in there to thin out the remaining oil and sop it up with some more paper towels. Make a final rinse with laquer thinner and brush it down. Should be super clean by now. I go through gallons of laquer thinner while working on the car. Cuts grease and oil and leaves no residue. But, keep in mind it will eat through paint pretty quick.

No, it was meant for him. Is removing oil from plug wells rocket science requiring internet research? Especially with the 3rd cover off?

I'm sure for most it is not. I wasn't sure if there was something certain I should do, to not damage anything. The title was very self explainitory...don't comment if you do not want to help. It was a simple question with a simple answer...

I'm sure to anyone with the IQ of a speed bump it would've been intuitively obvious. Then again with the never ending stream of "simple" questions here I could be wrong...

It was more of a confirmation; I'd rather ask a stupid question then end up wrecking something later. Although there was not much to wreck on my behalf.
Thanks though.

As much as I'd like to stick up for you canadian...jetjock has a point. He could've put it a little more friendly-ish, but that's not how he rolls lol

That's fair enough. No one is perfect:naughty:

I always bench bleed my spark plug holes before firing up a new motor. You have to make sure there's no air in there or you get a spongey spark.

nobody wants that.
