Numbers info

Looking for a VIN number that is not on the Door, engine compartment or dash. Bought a mk3 that came with a parts car recently but, the parts car doesn't seem to have a VIN any where. (scratched out?) Looked on the door the engine comp and the dash. No luck. Any one know of any other spots a VIN might be?

I seem to recall it's stamped into the engine block above the oil pressure sending unit? Or maybe that was another number... have a look anyhow.

Thanks, I'll have a look but, I don't think the engine is the origonal. But, it may work. It's looking like I'm going to have to jump through lot's of hoops to get it licensed.
