i have a 88 (i think) GTE i am planning on putting in my 86.5...

I have found using the epc on the cygnus site pretty handy for checking to see if parts are the same between the 2 setups. It looks like the fuel pump is the same and the guy at the toyota parts place said something to the effect that the difference was in the fuel delivery system in the engine bay. I have the (near) complete GTE in the garage and I believe all fuel delivery system parts are for the turbo version.

I spose I am going to get it from you guys for even suggesting that I do a full swap and leave the na fuel pump in there if it is the same... but that's droppin the tank and it looks like a mess from the epc pic.... so...can I upgrade later? Only trying to get a "refreshed" but essentially stock turbo swap up and running to start with... but I am trying to go through everything as I go and avoid problems down the line do to rotten lines or what-have-ya.... $$$ /sigh .... end /whine

thx for your guys time as always

When I did my swap, I used the stock NA fuel pump running with stock boost no problems. You should be fine as long as you keep it at stock boost. Upgrade later with a 255 walboro.

i did the same as tubbie, but i don't suggest it. the stock pump is probably half dead, and is subject to failure at any given time. fuel starvation + boost = melted pistons. :(

shaeff..

So if I picked up a walboro 255; I could drop the tank, change out the fuel pump and the level sending unit (mine is stuck or bad or both...) & have the tank cleaned out and put it back together and drive it awhile as an NA before I do the engine swap? I am thinking I could get this done first and then do the engine swap later... This way its already done and pretested while I wait for parts & finish assembling for the big install.

I see that there are 2 models available (and oem and HP) also see that they are on ebay as kits for around 100 shipped... Are these actual walboros or some knock off version?

Link I was lookin at here -->

Also wondered if anyones tried these guys ->> http://www.walbrofuelpumps.com/

Heres a site I was lookin at for better understanding
http://www.vfaq.com/pump-Walbros.html

Go ahead with the hp just in case for later on? Or is this dangerous until injectors, lines, etc are done as well?

thx - (yep I am heading to look over approved vendors/fuel pumps section next =)
