So this all started about 2 years ago.

I bought the car completely stock as a 7M-GTE from the second owner. Who didnt know anything about the car. When I purchased the car it did not idle at all. It would pull hard in every gear, just wouldnt idle. I later found out that it could have been a very simple problem, such as bad knock sensor or the wiring. The previous owner also told me that the headgasket had been done by the original owner. I later discovered that the headgasket was leaking. The car had some major sound system modifications done to it that had been molested and messed with in the years after its initial install, and needed to be re-done or removed. All in all the car was a lemon when I purchased it, and needed a ton of TLC.

I pulled the 7M that winter and bought a 1jz,harness,ecu,bell housing, intercooler and piping. I then sent the harness to Phoenix Tuning and didnt get back what I was told I would recieve(thats a whole different story). I also made some purchases from driftmotion and other sources.

-Short and long speedo cable.

-ACT extreme pressure plate and extreme 6-puck disc.

-Genuine Toyota gasket set.

-Timing belt.

-2JZ water pump/2jz rear water pump housing.

-R-154 slave cylinder.

-R-154 master cylinder.

-Marlin crawler shifter socket.

-Marlin crawler urethane shifter bushing.

-Pilot bearing.

-Stock flywheel re-surfaced.

-Flex-a-lite twins fans 2850 CFM.

-Flex-a-lite thermostat.

-HKS front mount and hard pipes.

-Pro sport coolant gauge.

-pro sport boost gauge.

-12-volt fuel pump mod on toggle switch.

-Megan track coils.

-Custome 3" turbo back 304 stainless exhaust(no muffler ).

-Intake mani sandblasted.

-Valve covers sandblasted.

-A/C delete.

-P/S delete.

The twins unfortunately do smoke.....:: angry :: I have plans for them :naughty:

I am sure there is other stuff, just cant think of it all right now.

Either way, here is it.
haha yes I am aware that the wheels need to go. They are sunken sooo badly!
No rust anywhere.
Bumper needs to be painted.
142 XXXkm on the clock.

For some reason, I think that's a beautiful car! It looks like fun for any day, rain or shine. I even think the sawblades look good (the drop probably helps).

Very clean car and love the engine bay, super clean!

How much did you give for the car?

&& Dont worry about the wheels, a bunch of people still rock the blades
including me!!! spend the grand else where and get your car running perfect
before you worry about stuff like that.

What do you meah how much did I give for the car? as in how much I bought it for, in that case I paid $5000 CAD for the car.

The car runs perfectly, other then the smoke. Its really not that bad. They only smoke at idle when its gets hot.

im looking for a fairly aggressive wheel fitment.
Am I going to have to worry about 18X9.5+38 rubbing on the coilovers?

Well thats what I ended up purchasing, XXR 522's in flat black. Wrapped with BFG T/A KDW-2 245/40R18

The wheels and tires ended up being exactly what I wanted. Other then the lug nuts are to big for the wheels, I can not get a socket on the lug nuts. Its always gotta be something right.

Well its been a VERY LONG time since there has been any sort of update here. So, here it is.

In the winter of 2010/2011 I pulled the engine again because I wanted to clean some things up and repair what was needed. First thing was dealing with the twins. Unfortunately, going single was not the budget for that past winter so I went a different route and sent them out to be rebuilt by Blaast Performance. I got the twins back and was very happy with how everything turned out.

After, ready to install.

My Megan coilovers were also an issue. The right front "shock" was blown and became so bad it was clunking. I replaced these with BC racing coilovers.

I also decided that deleting the ABS system was something I wanted to do. I removed all the lines in the engine bay going to the front calipers and going to the ABS module and built my own. I also installed an adjustable proportioning valve.

Along with the new twins I wanted something else. So a "go-fast" part was needed. Ditching the old camshafts and going with a Brian Crower 264 was the way I went. I also rebuilt the R-154. All new syncros and bearings with a marlin crawler 1st-2nd gear thrust washer.

That brings me to the end of that winter and into the summer of 2011. The summer only brought me about 900km of driving. I then cooked the clutch, literally COOKED it haha. So I pulled the engine and transmission once again and found this........
419087_10150511933581016_509741015_9287804_738383051_n.jpg
In the picture you can see a fairly large piece of disc material stuck to the flywheel right below the dowels.
I was practicing launching on drag radials and melted my friction disc to the flywheel. Lesson of the day, dont slip your 6-puck clutch really hard hahaha.

All in all it wasnt a complete loss as the engine was coming out anyways. I then purchased this.
430739_10150574473906016_509741015_9481688_691590061_n.jpg
Then tore the engine apart to give the head a re-fresh and check out the bottom end. After pulling the oil pans, I will admit I got cold feet and decided that leaving the bottom end was the way I would go. Everything in the head looked fantastic so nothing was replaced accept the valve stem seals. I had the head cleaned, the intake/exhaust ports bead blasted and the head decked .004'. I went with the rest of the Brian Crower valve train, titanium springs and retainers.

554587_10150639326491016_509741015_9723909_1922001190_n.jpg
Now the engine is all back together. I gave the engine a little custom dress-up. Valve covers and intake manifold painted in a matte wrinkle black the block painted a glass black and as you can see, the coil pack cover as well as the oil cap in a gloss white.

Parts are in the mail and there should an update next week. :icon_bigg
