Me vs. Mazdaspeed Protege

So my best friend has a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. He had his motor rebuilt. He's been saying that he thinks he'll beat me with all the work he's done to his car and he's lighter than mine. So I was taking my car for one last run before I take it apart for my next rebuild. I haven't been able to put in my BC 264/264 cams nor tuned yet. Running rich.

My mods:
stock 1jz, Exedy Hyper Single Stage 3, 60-1 turbo kit from Drift motion, FMIC stock injectors, Mines Tuned ECU, SAFC-NEO, no tune.


His Mods:
rebuilt motor.40 over Wiseco Pistons, 1mm oversized valves, bb GT2860?, FMIC.

Yea I'm sure. He has a Garrett gt2860 I believe. I helped him rebuild the motor and swap to a slightly bigger turbo than stock.

Sorry I was at work when I replied. Long story short my dad is fking me over for the last couple months with the car cause it's in his name. But I bought it and put money and time into it. I'm sick of it so I'm rebelling. Also in my build thread. They don't know.

Nice vid chris. Finally got to see the 1j in action with the new turbo setup. Can't wait to see the new car run with the cams in. Like i said before......2010 will interesting (for you and empera)

Thanks Dave, I can't wait to drop the motor in. All I need is to get a clutch kit and I would also like to repaint the engine bay before i drop it in. I hope it'll be 2010 rather 2011. I'm slowly getting most of the parts to get her up.
