i run an s-afc doing over 400 hp easily on my current setup at 18psi, and im getting a new turbo soon, i know the engine can handle the horsepower but im limited by the afm and cant do a simple fuel cut defencer with tuning to get past it because its a swap into a cressida and not the fcd i installed would not work correctly, next option is to eliminate the afm and fuel cut another way, the maft-pro, would it be possible since i already have a boost controller and AFC, to run the maft pro purely to get rid of the fuel cut and use of the afm, and still use a couple other settings without interfereing with the s-afc and other things that are already installed?

so how is the AFM limiting you? the stock AFM has produced well over 500 hp....

if you're looking for a way around FCO, just increse fuel press and pull more signal out via the SAFC....or run an AFM bypass.

sure, you could use the MAFT pro to just provide the speed/density coversion....but having that + the SAFC connected would be like a redundancy redundancy dept...but it would work.

by afm bypass are you talking a fuel cut defencer?? or what to bypass the afm, ill have to try raising fuel pressure and adjusting the s-afc, only problem is i havent done but one set of tuning with it and only thought the s-afc could adjust the duty cycle of the injectors. maybe im just not understanding it that well but tuning isnt really my thing... yet..

AFM bypass- any method of allowing unmetered air into the system....i.e. allowing air to bypass the AFM. this is effectively what the lexus AFM does....but it can be anything- a filter post-AFM, an air tube running from the filter past the AFM, etc.

nope, you're not understanding it correctly. the SAFC is modifying the AFM's signal to the ECU. the ECU uses that signal to calculate both fuel AND timing.

ok so essentially if i have an extra smaller air filter attached after the afm, and adjust the fuel correctly, it will not hit fuel cut right? acting opposite of having a boost leak because its taking in more unmetered air, causing a leaner mixture unread by the cars computer, but since im running an afc to correct the mixture anyway i should be able to tune it in by raising the fuel pressure with the regulator and adjusting the afc to spec as i did before??? pretty much like unscrewing the afm screw and allowing in slightly more air that isnt seen by the afm.... ok thanks alot dr jonez, correct me if im wrong, but i think ive got it now lol, i work too much to get enough time to comprehend things... thanks
