I have a Autometer LFG boost gauge, and the silicone liquid inside only comes up 3/4 of the way so it looks low. Do they come this way from the factory? Or can I fill it up some more? Where do I get this liquid silcone compound?

I found nothing on the Autometer website or elsewhere.

The liquid absorbs vibration and pressure spikes.

The dampening action of the liquid enables reading during conditions of rapid dynamic loading and vibration.

The liquid lubricates all moving elements, dramatically reducing wear in the movement.

Liquid-filled gauges are filled with non-aqueous liquid and hermetically sealed, they perform in corrosive environments and are immune to moisture penetration and icing.

It looks like the windsheild has a leak and is filling my boost gauge with water! At least that's what I was thinking when I bought the car. :)

Why can't they fill the damn thing up properly??
I have to imagine so it doesn't explode from thermal expansion...

It IS filled "properly"......

Fill it up and the gauge becomes inaccurate due to expansion/pressure.
