Best test is the "fingernail test" if you can feel it with your fingernail, you'll need it honed at least but likely bored as well. There's a good chance that if you can see it, it'll need machining. Especially when you're talking about the sort of damage your piston has just sustained!

Very impressive pics, by the way!

You've seen what happens with "Cheap" personally I'd bite the bullet and get the best Injectors I could find.

Best injectors? Like what, some RC's?
http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23400&highlight=rc+injector+stuck

Yeah, those never get stuck either. Like I said before, Venoms gets a bad rap when the go wrong. RC gets stuck, and absolutly nobody comes in there and calls them junk. It doesn't matter what brand you buy, some will fail on you. Not one injector company has a 100% success rate with their injectors. Not even RC Engineering.

Porterz, I'd have that one injector checked out to see if it failed. Just take it to your local fuel injector specialist, and have them test it and give you a print out of its performance. If indeed it's messed up them contact Venom and tell them what their injector did to your motor. See what they do. They may not do a damn thing, but at least they'll prolly give you another injector. But then you might not want to go with Venom again since they're deemed junk. You can try some other brand injector. Good luck.

Venoms are re-worked stockers. They've been flow tested and do not supply 550cc's. Yes it is true that you can get a bad injector. I watch cars run 6.559 and 7's on speed channel(several toyotas). They're using RC injectors. Race proven. When I order my 550's their going to be 550's their worth it. I don't know how many people know about this co. http://JSCspeed.com They sometimes are anywhere from a few bucks to $15.00 cheaper than most other places I see things. Their really awesome people to. I've spoke to Chris there, they would be interested in group buys just for anyone to set it up just e-mail him with what you'd like to get a group buy for and work out the details. Anyway sorry to hear/see your engine blown. Good luck with the rebuild. Don't buy parts cause their cheap. You will get nothing but head aches in return. I feel for you, My Supra is down, IDK whats wrong with it yet.

Dude as I said last time this is my opinion and no matter how much you post it I've only ever seen one instance of a dud RC but many many of Venom's and the aftermath.

I wouldn't use them I wouldn't recommend anyone I know to use them in a performance application.

They may be fine in a DD but in our cars and esp one like Porter's that's on the ragged edge at the best of times it's playing Russin Roulette with 5 loaded chamers!

Wolfems manual said:
Many times, people can’t get their engine idling properly, or it misfires on acceleration. This problem
is often traced back to dirty injectors, or a clogged fuel filter.
If the engine has not been run in the last 2 weeks, have your injectors cleaned and flowed. Make
sure you get a written report with each injector numbered, and a flow number for each injector. The
injectors should all flow within 5% of each other. Any more variance than that, and you may
experience idle stability problems.
The person who cleaned and flowed your injectors should give them back to you in a plastic bag.
Keep them in the plastic bags until you are ready to install them in your engine, no more than one
week prior to starting the engine for the first time
.

Honestly mate you really should reseach more -1

Allen, all that tells me is have your injectors checked out on week prior to installing them. If 3p141592654 would have done that he would have found out that one of his RC's was faulty before installing them. The fact remains that one RC injector failed. Does that make RC's junk???

IJ, so 3p141592654 RCE's bad injector was the one instance you've seen where one failed? The only one?

I've searched and searched about bad Venoms blowing up peoples motors, and I'm having a hard time coming up with some articles. I'm sure it does happen, but I haven't found one. Maybe everybody that knows Venoms are proven to be bad can post some links to some kind of testimony of them failing.

Yep the only one I know of... :nono:

If you want to justify buying/using cheap injectors that's up to you, I've lost a motor to Generic Injectors and will now NEVER use anything but the best it's false economy in a component that has the potential to totally destroy a motor.

My Venoms sat for over 4 years. Page two - http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14749&page=2
Out of curiosity I wanted to see if they were any good so I took them in to get checked. They checked out just fine. So, I don't think his RC failed cause it sat for 3 months. If that's the case then alot of MKIII owners who's cars are down for 3 or more months are going to have to plan on buying new injectors. Especially if they have RC's, cause according to you that's why they fail.
