What are the differences between the stock JZA70 and the MA70 motor mounts?

They have different part numbers:

JZA70 : 12361-46040 http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1993_TOYOTA_SUPRA_JZA70-BJPVZ_1107.6.html?hl=12311

MA70 : 12361-42050 http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_1992_TOYOTA_SUPRA_MA70L-BJPVZC_1107.2.html?hl=12311

I have swapped in a 2JZ-GTE with automatic transmission (the JZA80 one) using the MA70 mounts. And to position the gearbox correctly in height I needed some spacers. But when putting the spacers on the rear housing of the gearbox I find that the engine oilpan hits the nut holding the steering rack.

So I was wondering if the JZA70 mounts are slightly higher than the MA70.

Has anyone compared the two?

Can you use the mkIV mounts? I have some but it seems like they have a wrong angle (a different angle compared to the stock MA70 mounts) and they also had a locating stud in the wrong place.

Mk4 mounts can be used in the mk3 no problem. Just have to grind off the little stud.

Ok. I just thought they had a difference angle between top and bottom.

The ones I have look like this:

I haven't checked but are they of the same height as the stock MKIII mounts?

Hmm, why are they different? What year are yours? Mine are from a 1993.

Seems like the brackets on the mkIV subframe must be different between your and my donor car. My mounts have a slight angle.

The brackets you have are the wrong ones, You have to use the JZA70 brackets, It seems you have the MKIV/soares brackets...

I believe I purchased 1998 TT mounts way back in 2007. The photo isn't mine but shows the same mounts I have...not brackets. I purchased BIC brackets and already completed my swap.
