hahaha *you're!

The car has been running great. Upped the boost to 12 psi on a completely stock fuel system, including the cressida pump. AFR still deep in the 10's.

Going to take the car to the track for the first time on June 22nd. Drift event at Pat's Acres in Canby, OR. There should be a few Supra's. If anyone in the area reads this, stop by and take a few laps with me, or if your Supra and driving skills are up to it, enter the event!

Had fun at the drift event until my turbo flange bolts loosened up and the gasket blew out. After than it was lag city and wouldn't spool whatsoever in the tight corners. Going to fix the gasket and swap the 3.91's in favor of 4.30 gears.

Swapped my welded diff back in for 100% predictability. Tightened the stock ebrake up. Ran tandems all day.

They are pretty beefy. You can trash the 1st gear thrust washer and break shift forks when abusing them like I was, though.

A miracle happened and I scored a brand new R154. Changed clutch while it was out, disc was burned after loading the car on the trailer in 3rd gear (only gear that worked). I sledge hammered the trans tunnel some more, it finally fits without hitting anything. Getting pretty familiar with engine pulling after owning this and my MK3. Knocked everything out in 3 hours, working with a friend.

Few updates to the build. I was having cooling issues with twin 12" efans. First, I tried Driftmotion's modified LS400 clutch with a 7mgte blade. This happened on the first drive:

Fan clutch was locked way too tightly, I would strongly advise against using this combo. Switched to a 2JZGE fan and clutch. Clears and cools fine now!

The 3.91 gears were a pain at Pat's Acres, where I like to drift. I kept having to throw it down in first in the hairpins, which lead to me breaking my last R154. Installed these 4.30 gears from an NA mk3 diff I had laying around, along with ditching the welded for the Weir #2 LSD again. The diff is flawless, I couldn't be happier with the gearing, or LSD.

Got a nicer steering wheel

Got Technotoytuning roll center adjusters, these actually made a huge difference. Very worthwhile.

Got some Toyota Matrix rear studs, which allow for 10+ full turns on the lug nuts while using a 5mm spacer.

I was driving down the highway and all the sudden ignition got cut for a second. Did it two more times until I got home, died in my driveway and would crank but not start. Fuel pump running, power to coils, injectors, and cps tested good. Was pulling my hair out triple checking all my wiring which was fine. Came out the next day, turned the key, and it started right up but idled at 400 rpms. Died 30 seconds later and would not start. I was almost stumped until I took apart the ECU and found this:

All the other capacitors were leaking too.

The ECU is at Driftmotion right now getting repaired. I didn't think it would happen to me, but I guess 1JZ ECU's really do die every single time.
