so...i am going to do a twin 2j swap here soon...one thing however. i guess the jdm engine has not only a little less power than the usdm 2j, but i am thinking the engine would need to be flopped around do to the fact that jap cars are right hand drive...so...in your guy's much more experienced opinion, should i buy a 2j twin turbo from japan with WAY less miles on it....or, should i just buy one from a totaled mkiv supra or something... though i found a sweet deal one a jdm 2jz twin turbo WITH a tranny. 3200. thats WITH shipping.

so. advice ladies and gentlemen. my ears are open.

Who cares about the miles? I mean, just buy whatever is cheapest/easiest and rebuild it to start over anyway. I would always start with a fresh motor if I already had it out of the car

so..then the japanese would be better? cuz i guess it isnt to hard to make 400bhp on a 2jz twin anyway....so..it prolly doesnt really matter huh? plus i guess the usdm 2j only has maybe 40 more hp?30? i dunno...guess it int that big of a deal huh? and since we are on topic, is 3200 for a twin 2j WITH a tranny a good deal?

With the 6-speed. Yes id say thats a pretty good deal. Ive put quite a few JDM motors in cars(not Toyota) and ive had great experiences with them. I'll see how this JDM 7m will work for me. Id go with the cheapest you can get it in good working order.

JDM has different turbos and cams... they make less HP, but more torque

you're still getting a random motor with unknown milage and wear...

the HP cap in japan

so they go the different route, and bump the torque up... USDM cams are usually sited as being an upgrade, and the ceramic turboes aren't as durable as the USDM ones
