Well, i was just informed of what my insurance company is offering me:

~$4750

For those who don't know what happened to the car, check my sig for some pics and the story.

While to some of you, this may seem like enough, definately not for my car. I had one of the rare, nearly mint mkiii's left with a considerable amount invested. Not to mention this is nearly $1000 LESS than what i still owe from when i first bought the car :aigo:. Plus ill have to buy it back so i'll be getting even less. :3d_frown:

Well my plan is now, with much help from some other members hopefully (i've already had quite a few offer help with parting, fixing and cleaning parts), ill be looking for a GOOD rolling chassis and do a swap. A body that needs minimal work of course but maybe has a bad or no engine/drivetrain.

If anyone has a good one, red/maroon/black with grey/black interior let me know. Preferably a targa, but i can't be overly picky right now. I cannot spend more than 2K on the body in this situation.

This was my DD and i need another car quick so If anyone would be willing to lend a hand (in the philly/doylestown/allentown PA area) or donate (or at least offer for really cheap) any kind of electrical related parts (since all mine were fried), ie sensors, wiring harness, ecu etc it would be appreciated to the greatest extent!

well consider me in for helping with labor stuff or shell hunting considering you live only a stones throw or maybe a hop skip and a jump away LOL. 87 turbo targa maroon on the Philly craigs list for $2800.....its not a roller though....but for the right price I could use an r154 LOL

Show them receipts, everything you've got. Hopefully Adjuster will chime in here. This is his specialty.

just show them other clean examples of mkiiis for sale.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...8&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=709
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...8&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=475
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=1077
etc

Those have lower mileage on the engine like yours (just rebuilt). Tell them you want replacment value, no what the book value is. Say you cant find one as nice for the price the are offering (send them links of ones in that range (shitty ones, haha).

Tell them you wont accept anything less then 6k or whatever.

edit: in all honesty though, that offer isn't too bad $ wise. Just tell him 4750-5k and your car for parts. Not 4750 then they have you buy it back for 1500 or whatever.

and say those aren't even with a new engine, like yours has. Tell them you want replacment value, no what the book value is. Say you cant find one as nice for the price the are offering (send them links of ones in that range (shitty ones, haha).

According to them, i had -$355 off the top b/c they considered my engine old!!!!!!!

"Apparently" anything rebuilt over 6 months old is considered old! :3d_frown:

They said my tires had very good tread, yet took off -$75 b/c they werent "as good" as the supra's currently being sold in my area at home.

Your right, its not a terrible price but i need more to get what its really worth.

Nearly $5k for a 20 year old car sounds like a fair amount to me.

to you it may "sound" good but lets say you had a car you loved and poured money into it to make it better for long term use. once its gone its gone and if some guys says its OLD you'd be pissed.

thats when you spend the extra cash and get it insured under collectors car insurance to an agreed value.. then no worries..
