how to install cam position sensor?

Take the cover off it, and make sure its set to TDC (there are marks to line up inside there) And set it in the hole on the side of the head with the cams, and crank set at TDC. Its just like installing a distributor. There is a step by step in most MK3 repair manuals like chiltons and haynes that you should be able to pick up at any auto parts store, or atleast have one ordered.

Jdub to the rescue. (found it is 17 seconds using the search function)

It should look like this:




Make sure the crank dampner is pointing at "zero" and both cam gears are aligned to the top index marks on the back plate.

There ya go. I knew I had seen it recently somewhere. Just couldnt remember where, and that early in the morning, im not about to do searches to get someone else information. LOL
