So she stopped running again... ::shootme:: I'm seriously considering selling her.

I knew what i was getting into, but it's so damn frustrating... i know i can nurse her back to health and make her scream but the road is so long and rough. it's most likely a very simple problem bothering her too! i love wrenching on her and it's ecstasy when she comes to life by my hands, but a problem everyday? seriously? damn you 7m, i'm gonna leave you for a jz...

or leave my supra completely.
...even with how much time and money and pride i have invested in her...
...even if we have had great times and she was my first car ever...
ok maybe i won't quit her... just give her a short rest.

:(
have you ever been low on faith or just taxed to exhaustion by your supra? how close have you gotten to giving up? or have you given up? do you regret it?

oh and damn you pig for following me home even though i broke no laws! wtf?

Close to giving up = ALOT. Gave up and came back to it = ALOT.

Nothing will test your determination and wallet, like a Supra. But, once it's goin' good, ain't nuthin' else like it.

Keep the faith. Most issues are within a few hours of fixin.... troubleshooting/diagnosis is the frustrating part.

Good luck.

Been there. If you have a second car then you can always leave it and get to it while you can. or use this as an excuse to go bigger :D

I've really been thinking of parting everything out here lately. I just have too much going to have to work on my car. I've got alot of money in parts that are still just sitting in boxes and a car that is just taking up space in my garage.

I feel ya, I started out NA, went to two 7MGTE's and then on to a 1j. Took a year to do the swap due to information and money. She is running and had an odd sound coming fro the Number two turbo area. I thought it was a bad turbo . Turns out it was a loose bolt for the secondary o2 bung.

Still have no back up lights from the FIRST GTE swap.
Still have rpm dependent whine in speakers despite changing every separate component.
Slow sunroof
Passenger side window only goes down from drivers side and up from passenger side.

Fact is you have to have a little acceptance . This is an old temperamental car. Shit is faulty, Shit needs to be fixed and maintained. If you don't have the temperament and time then sell it.

I have honestly (in the 3 years of being an owner) have never considered giving up.. but then again.. I went in knowing it was going to be a touch frustrating. The only thing that has ever made me "pause" is driving in a new car that is all tight and comfortable... and thinking.. hmm.. this is a very nice sofa.

But.. then I remember.. I didn't buy the Supra to sit on the couch.. so.. now I just go out and do a bit at a time and the girl just purrs..

The supra stoped running almost 2 years and a half after the engine rebuild. I ran out of cash and some Unknown problem on the wiring came up. I haven´t been able to fix it as it yet. I saved up some more cash hopefuly this year it will be running again @ 450 WHP. Everyone has told me to give up and sell it . but I m not giving up like i did with the other 2 supras, and my past car proyects.
7MPOWER now known as gte powered was such an inspirational website that it made me rethink wich direction should i take.

TAKE YOUR TIME AND FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED OTHERWISE YOU WILL REGRET BY NOT FULLFILLING YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS

if you really want to keep her and fix her up later find a way to get it to your parents. Either that or sell it and start over when you're back. I'm in the same delima but my supra does run but I'm at school for 2 more years so i wont even drive it so i was thinking of taking it off insurance and find a nice shell to swap everything over. Use this as the right down time. There's a lot nice one out there. I know you love your car as much as i love mine every time i drive it. But there are many other priorities out there than a car.

If this is your first Supra and it is at all a nice car... don't give up on it, because you will regret it, and chances are, any Supra you own after this one is going to seem inferior. Ask me how I know. Ask me why I still carry my 88's key on me at all times. Ask me how many times I've seen pictures of it, or how hard I kick myself every time I see the 01 SS I bought after I sold the 88... Selling that car was one of my VERY few regrets in life.

Besides, that Pieceofcrap, er... Pontiac, is never going to make you feel special the way a Supra does, even if it may be as quick.
