:icon_razzI have a stock 7m-gte and would like to start with a new bov .Since i started my research, I have found that some cars have mas airflow meters. I know the consecuences of running rich (burn out my cat-back),but i would like to know what mods do i make in my car to avoid running rich. Also is it safer to use a dual port bov or do i stay with 100% atmospheric.

Supras have mass air sensors, fyi. Simplest way to avoid the condition is to keep the stock bov and still run the aftermarket one venting to the atmosphere, with both bov's sharing the same vaccum line. Problem solved. Or you could recirculate the aftermarket bov, and no more overly rich condition.

Or buy a MAFT or MAFT pro as a path to future upgrades.
With either, you can run an atmospheric BOV, since you get rid of the Mass air sensor.

Ok running the stock bypass valve with an additional aftermarket bov vented to atmosphere wont solve this problem at all. Running a recirculated aftermarket bov by itself or with the stock one however would.

basically run recirculated or go speed density.

whats so bad about a recirculated bov? i just got a bosch 110, looks oem, sounds like none other, and i got it for $10... sooo i dont see the problem with any of that...

and venting = attention. which i dont need. enjoy getting pulled over cause you "blew off" on that ricer...

Assuming your car is 100% up on maintenance, our cars have what's called an AFM (air flow meter). It's different than the mass air counterpart. Step one is referring to the components of your vehicle correctly. :)

If you recirculate the BOV, thus making it a BPV (bypass valve) like stock, you will avoid that rich condition. Also, you don't really need to worry about "burning out your catback"- there are bigger fish to fry when it comes to running rich. (Cylinder wash comes to mind)

Negative, sir. AFM= Air Flow Meter. Check the TSRM. ;) Also, for something like the BOV/BPV, I'd personally run a dedicated vacuum line for each. Compressor surge will kill the turbo with a quickness.
