I'm having some trouble getting my EVC1 to operate properly(or at all).

The car is constantly building boost whether the EVC is on or off.

The 1st thing I notice is the green lights at the bottom of the head unit that are supposed to read boost do not respond respond at all. I have the constant manifold pressure source going to the right port, compressors tee'd together to the middle port, and the wastegates tee'd to the left port. I assume the left constant pressure port is where the solenoid measures boost and uses it to control the stepping motor and the head unit displays the boost with lights. Possible cause why the head unit lights would not be showing any change? The nonworking display makes me think this is the source of my problem since it's doing the same with the power on and off. If the EVC isn't reading boost, it won't know how to control the pressure, correct? With the ignition on, I can hear the solenoid clicking, so that should be ok.

I am using a Defi boost gauge, so I'm not blindly boosting. I can see the boost isn't stopping and lift off the throttle before detonation occurs(already been through that problem once so I know better.)

Any input from others that are familiar with the EVC1 is appreciated.

Well it's not the hose configuration. Those are fine. compressors tee'd together to inlet port, wastegates tee'd together to outlet port.

^like that. At first I realized the boost port hose had a leak in it so the EVC was only reading like 2-3psi of boost... No wonder it wouldn't stop boosting... BUT, then I fixed that and the head unit reads correct boost but it still refuses to control it.

I hooked the hoses up to an MBC to see if I could narrow down the problem. I kept the MBC completely open and the car boosted stock .8bar like usual. So that was a relief to know the hose configuration is ok. I was able to turn it up to about 1.1-1.2bar, which feels really good btw, so now I know the problem was somewhere in the EVC.

Not sure why it wouldn't work. For the time being, I'm not too worried about fixing it I guess since I can control boost with the MBC instead.

Is that the old picture, or did you draw a new one?

Are you SURE that the EVC needs two pressure sources? With the Greddy units, one of the ports is a VENT to bleed off excess pressure, to control your boost. Which one is a vent, and which is conencted to a pressure source depends on which type of WG you have.

That's the old pic. Thought you'd like that...

Yes, the HKS solenoid has 3 ports. 1 is for a constant pressure source from the manifold(just like a boost gauge). 2 is for the compressor inlet, 3 is for wastegate outlet. There's a 4th port on the backside of the solenoid for the vent. It's just a hole, not with a fitting like the other 3 ports.

I talked with mattjk last night and he helped me figure it out. There are switches inside the head unit that have to be set right for internal or external. I didn't see them on the outside of the unit so I had there wasn't one... I didn't see it in the online manual either.

Anyway, I have to go get new fittings for the WG port since I broke the plastic one taking it off when I put the MBC on. So, I'm going to go to the hardware store to get new brass fittings and see if the new switch settings on the head unit fix the problem.
