I swapped my Pre89 tail light to Post89 tail lights. The Post89 taillight housing are JDM so I have to wire the side turn signals to them. But upon looking at the harness the wires are all different. The plugs are the same and wire colors are the same, but the wires are all in different area from the old one.

Does anyone know what pin goes in which to make the JDM post89 lights work correctly with the US spec pre89?

It would be gay to see the reverse light go off when your braking :naughty:

I tried searching but with so many results I got confuse.. Plus I am still a bit hung over from drinking.

thats what you get for cutting the old ones out without seeing where to wire in the new ones.

its pretty simple. take any + lead from either of the running lights (not brake light lead) and the corresponding - and youre done.

Uhh no. The cutted wire looking one in the picture are the JDM post89 housing. That cut up looking wires are the male harness from the old car it came with. The harness male and female plugs are all there. The Pre89 housing are just unplugged.

pff, just get a set of bulb holders out of a us spec 89+... or bust out the test light and start cutting...

that is.. if it's not plug and play... I thought it was.

Oh ok thanks. I thought they were off since they were the post89 and mine were the pre89. But if you can tell me where to tap it I would be so appreciated. I guess it confused me when looking at the old housing in comparable to the new one, the red wire on the old one went to the right side while the new one went to the left.

my bad. on my 86.5 the side markers were wired in and not apart of the harness, so i had to cut them off and rewire them into the 89+ bulb holders my self.

the ground path is easy, as they all share a common ground, the positive path goes driectly to the plug and is on it's own pin (this is stock)

it looks like the JDM ones don't have that pin in em, might have to pull the pin from your original ones and pop it into the JDM ones.

If you look at the female end of the connector, it's the red pin.
