I day dream about having many Supra's w/ many power plants. My real question is, which feels better at X HP... from someone who has been in both. Does the 7M feel as torquey at high power as it does at low power? Oh how I wish WI wasn't full of near stock Supra's.

@ bpu, they all have power all over, but the 7m is more of a low/mid range, the 1jz is more of a mid/high and the 2jz is just all over, from 3.5k to redline.

Iron block? Doubtful that it is not a boat anchor ;)

Well, it was not my first choice as a motor, I would rather have a 1uz with a t70, but I'll wait until I get SC400 to do that as there were too many unknowns about the swap into a ma70.

The big question is how much money are you willing to spend!!!!

Money is no object but to get to the HP range Im looking for it might take a 7-8 months maybe. I want to get everything done at once but I dont have the money for that. so I have to pace myself. Shooting for 750-850 RWHP not crank. Quick ???? how much HP can a built up R154 tranny take.

That is contradictory.

Money is no object and we would not be talking about "not having money" or money is an object and we would be talking about not having money.

Anyway.

Shooting for 600+ crank ponies.

lol. see my above "money" statement.

I say 2jzgte, imo its the best platform to start out on if going to make big power. The 7m can be built the same, but its more difficult to get there.

You have to remember the work that will have to be done for a 2jz, but I am going to do one in about a month. I have a '92 Teal, and I want something special in it. most likely it should have the 2jz anyhow.

Well if you have the money I guess that is another story. The 6-speed swap is quite hard though and isn't too easy the shifter doesn't align correctly when yo install it into the mkiii and other problems also occur.
