help i feel stupid cant find my fuel filter

im in the middle of doing my HG replacement.heads off at the machine shop i got all my parts and what not started cleanignt he block for the new HG.and i was thinking to my self while im in here and have all this apart why not replace the fuel filter.well i just cant seem to find it.i have a 86.5 NA that has a JDM swapped 7mge and in the haynes book its shows the fuel filter under the intake. but i dont see one there is it supposed to be there and they just removed it when the JDM was put in or is it hidden somewhere else and the book is just wrong? any picks would be great to.

It is a bitch unless you have acsess(SP?) to a lift and some line wrenches. It is almost directly above the diff pumpkin.

My fuel fiilter is attached to the pump inside the tank, so I had to drop my shizzle all together.
