well just like the title says I need a little help removing my drivers side seat. basically I removed the front two bolts, but I cant get to the back two unless I move the seat forward--begine problem. I baught the car as a parts car and it has no engine or battery, I have stripped the car down except for the seat and with no power cant get it to move forward. I tried hooking up a battery and plugging the dash harnesses back in to see if I could get the power, but no luck  anyway, does anyone know how else I could get power to the seat and move it? I have a 12 volt converter so I could have power, but I dont know which wires to hook up. any suggestions would help.

as long as you have the terminals for the battery just hook a battery up and the seat will get power.

If that doesnt work, you can get a power drill with a socket extension and turn the seat motors manually. lift the front of the seat and youll see the motors. 12 mm I think.

wrenches and some precision.

Or attach a piece of wire to each terminal of something like a 12v battery charger (power + ground) and put them directly into the correct contacts of the chair harness. Find the one that translates it horizontally.

thanks, I already tried hooking up a battery, with no luck. I do have a power source (posative and ground) but I cant figure out where to hook them up. I tried to tsrm online and all it had for a wiring diagram was that the color of wires for the seat slide were blue w/black and red w/blue for a 90 supra, mines an 89 and i didnt see those color combinations. i tried hooking the ground up to the bolt under the wires and placing the posative power to every terminal on the plug from the seat. I will try to manually turn the motor if I can, but does anyone know the exact wires I can use to get the seat power? t

I have an '89 Electrical Manual. It looks like you need to pull the large switch off of the side of the seat where you would adjust it with your left hand. You want to get to the large 13 Pin plug. You are looking for the Red/Blue (pin 5) and the Blue/Black (pin 9) wires. To move the seat forward, connect the + from your battery to Pin 5 and the - to pin 9. To move backward, reverse the connections. Hope this helps.

Nash, thanks I tried that option but every time I hit the wrench with the hammer it would come off the bolt :3d_frown: it was a little frustrating and it would have taken a few good hits to break loose--props for doing that with the seat back!!
