Help finding thread about front window rubber trim, (or something like that)

Hi!
I remember seeing a thread on here somewhere about a guy who changed the "ugly" metal trim around the front window to a nice one in rubber. Now when I need to see it again I cant find it

He may have used a product called Plastidip on the ugly metal trim... I've seen that done, it looks alright.

It looks fine, the metal trim definitely looks classier if it's not all beat, mine had flakey paint and the previous owner had messed up/broken all of the clips, so instead of dealing with it I just went with this rubber stuff.

Dan88t: That might be what I saw in a thread here somewhere. Do you have pics of it installed? Can you doublecheck that it is the product you posted (sad to order stuff from US to Sweden and getting the wrong parts)? Other ideas anybody?

Hey, I'll snap a few pics of that window trim on lunchbreak today and post them.
To be honest, I'd rather the rubber trim I used was a little bit wider but it fills in the gap so I can't really complain.

No need to track down the exact product, I'd say.
When i had my windshield replaced 2 yrs ago, I took it into a place, described the stuff i was looking for(based on the above-mentioned thread), and
the guy said- no problem, we keep that stuff in stock.

PS- I brought my laptop in, and showed the guy the pic from that thread. I suggest doing the same thing, or copying my pic to bring in.

Wow, that looks superb, Dan! I do need to replace that trim on my car. I had crappy brittle original trim that a windshield installer ripped out, and it has been empty ever since.

Does yours leak due to the lack of trim? I guess that would have to do more with the quality of the windshield install, huh?

Not that I know of, though to be fair, I'm not sure how much rain it has sat through. It is still sealed up with silicone IIRC, it just doesnt have much fancy trim around it.
