okay so here is my problem... i just finished installing a new motor and was going through my checklist to see if i had missed anything. Finding that everything was in order i went to go blip the engine to get some oil flowing before actually starting the car and i get complete power loss. By that i mean all of my electronics go out and then right after i let the key return to the on position my power comes back.

any ideas of what might behappening? also i found that i'm getting a spark from the battery terminals. if that helps at all...

yes i do have the battery grounded to the engine. The voltage acording to my meter says 13.2 volts so i don't think its a lack of volts, and even if i had a lack of volts wouldn't it just try to crank and not spark...?

Might be a weak connection on the battery terminals.

I had the same problem where i have power to everything at the ON position, but when i turn the key everything cuts off and nothing happens then when the key goes back to the on postion i get power to everything. I checked my codes, and came up with 51 (ac signal switch) so i just said screw it and hooked up a switch to the starter and thats how i went on lol.

took the dash out later on and found that the ac signal wire (white/black dots) was fried all the way through.

Make sure your cps is aligned correctly because it will not start if it is not, and that you have the engine bay harness wired right. The harness that goes to the starter and alternator plus ground.

1- Set you motor to TDC on cyl #1 (align the mark on the crank to the 0 degree mark, and the cam marks align with the groves on the cam shield)

2- Unbolt you CPS (only one bolt)

3- Pull the CPS out

4- There are 2 gears Big (Stationary, it dont spin) and (small) Gear at the end that actually spins. On the Big part, there is a notch at the tip. and on the small gear there is a hole drilled. allign the drilled hole from the small gear, with the notch on the big gear.

5- Reinstall the CPS in as straight as you can to where the hole in your head is somewhat in the middle of the slot on the CPS (where the bolt goes).

6- Hand tighten the CPS into place (bolt in the middle of the slot) and have some one crank the car, if it doesnt start, loosen the CPS bolt a bit and shift the CPS up or down a little bit while someone is cranking the car.

Also you can use this as a guide

Hope this helps.
