Heater problems. Something New.

Well its the typical "my heater doesn't blow hot air". I have searched and have done the vsv bypass and found out my vsv is bad. But still no hot air. Also my coolant temp sensor is plugged in. Coolant level is fine. No leaking coolant from the inside or center of car. The coolant hoses leading to my heater valve gets hot, when the valve is opened the hose that goes into the cabin gets hot, and the hose leading back to the engine from the cabin gets hot. Still no hot air though.

Thanks for the help. Can't quite figure out this one on my own and am in need of some help.

so if you have hot air going into/out of the heater core, it's obvious your problem lies elsewhere. sounds like you blend door is not operating correctly. i've never had to get into the hvac of these cars yet so i don't exactly how to get to the door. basically you're trying to expose the HVAC box in the dash. you'll find two doors in/around the box. one is the hot/cold blend door and the other is your fresh/recirc door. poke around and see why it's not working

Well I found out what the problem was. I just purchased the car a week ago and hadn't turned on the heater. Well I tried but it blew cold air. No that i have gotten it home and was trying to figure it out I found out the VSV was bad as stated earlier. Well since the valve was closed; and the previous owner flushed the system recently, he had drained the coolant, and since the valve never reopened nothing went back in and became a huge air pocket. When I pulled the car out of the driveway with the VSV bypassed the water pump was able to create enough pressure to push coolant into the cabin and it sounded like someone just turned on a faucet. LOTS of air in the system now and upon a refill it now blows hot air and all I have to do is replace the VSV.

Thanks for the insight and help guys.

I come from a land down under
Johnathan: It's when the VSV works and flows hot water into the heater core but the Air door stays shut so no hot air comes out (there's a door on a servo motor under there controlled by the CC)

I had this issue with my car when I got it and ot took me forever to isolate and correct.
