Head removal question

Your problem is that you are using a 1/2 drive socket you NEED a 3/8 drive socket. Believe me im in the middle of 2 supras and 2 BHGs. Yeah i know it sucks. The 1/2 drive socket has a thicker wall than a 3/8 socket.

Even that wont work he NEEDS a 3/8 thin wall deep well socket. Just spin the cams until you can get the socket in.

If that's the case I'd say you'll have to pull the cams. Its not that hard, just be careful you don't tilt the cam in the head too badly- its possible to crack it/the head.

Ok decision made gonna pull the cams... engine coming out tomorrow then to get it to my buddy's shed where there are no cats:/ then I can lay everything out....so how do I store the cams/ head while they are off the engine so nothing gets warped ??

i wanna know what cams those are? did the N/A motors come with diff style cams, or are they aftermarket?

Just try the shortest 3/8 drive socket you can find with an extension first while you turn the cam (have you even tried that yet? I cant remember but maybe its oval shaped) and make sure its the right mm size.
You can store the head upside down on a piece of wood with the cam caps are still on.

the problem he's having is his cams don't have reliefs so you can get the socket in, it doesn't matter what size socket he uses, theres just not enough room

Lol its been smoking for a while and I Had about a quart and a half of oil in my intercooler..... thought it was bhg:/ lol

I originally pulled my turbo because I thought it had blown a seal.... then thought bhg after I saw oil dripping out my exhaust ports....
