Ah, the marlin. The biggest fish I've ever caught was an 87" sailfish. It was like reeling in a rock. Until it got near the boat. Then the show started. I have it mounted where my parents work.

Where is RTS? I was going to guess, but after five minutes of nothing I gave up. I couldn't come up with any intelligent guesses, nor any funny ones. Nice catch though. My brother loves to fish for striped bass here in Alabama. He has a 42 pound mounted on his wall. It is 43.5 inches long. The only reason I remember how long it is, is because it cost him $10.00 an inch. Yep you guessed it.....$435.00.............I'd had to let it go before I got it mounted, 'cause that would have bought me an maft/pro.............lol

Last time I went fishing in the ocean I puked my guts out for 4 hours. Stupid deep sea fishing. I will stick with my "hill billy bass".

Tuna casserole this week at Nick's house!
We will be cooking marinated steaks actually. Not sure what to have with the fish yet though.

all we have around here is hillbilly bass.
Largemouth bass is one of my favorite catches. Those are always catch and release for me.

Where do you think that taco came from? Mooo....

Pacific ocean, in IJ's "neighbor hood" if you will. Yeah, that big one fought. There was 3 of us. We all caught them when it is a fish like this. Two rods, two hand lines. Often it is a double strike in a bird pile. So somebody still has to steer the boat, somebody has to pull in the handlines if it is on the rod, somebody has to pull the fish to the side and in the boat, somebody has to crank the reel. The reeler couldnt pull it in the boat after the fight. I do like bass fishing, but deep sea is the shiznit.

edit: still waiting to be able to say "we're gonna need a bigger boat"

Believe it, it happens.

The Marlin, Sailfish or Mako Shark is a goal that I have. Catching one of those three is a goal that I want to accomplish before I die.

One the note of sharp teeth.. we have Bluefish out here, and those little suckers have some sharp pirhana-like mouths. Retrieving a hook requires long needlenose pliers. Trying to look them up a second ago, I got the caption "Known for their sharp teeth and insatiable appetites, bluefish migrate in dense packs each spring, often leaving a trail of blood as they consume other fish in a feeding frenzy." The ones I caught were 1-2 feet long, and mean as hell.

I bet those tuna put up a great fight. I heard shortfin tuna and amberjack will wear you out, but I've never caught them.
