did you check your coils for cracks? thats what gave me a hard time on my second 2jz swap - after some jbweld they ran fine and the car started

as far as checking the ignitor and ecu you put them in a known running car? or via tsrm?

what i did was put a ecu and ignitor from a running 1jz into my car still had the same problem... as for the coils they are fine 8 / what else can cause them not to spark ?

The tach moving shows the igniter is getting a signal? or the opposite?

The tach shows the ignitor is getting a signal. The tach receives its signal from the ignitor. Therefore, if the ignitor is not firing, the tach doesn't get a signal.

I'm having a similiar problem. So if the tach isn't moving at all, the ignitor is no good? or there is something wrong with the wiring?

Dont jump to the igniter as thats what I did also and it didnt fix it. Need to find out what throws the signal to the igniter.

I checked my crank sensor out but it is working per standards

You should have the needle not sit at zero the whole time. It should jump a little bit, like to 200rpm or so.

If the needle doesn't move, it means either the ignitor isn't getting the fire signal, or it isn't acknowledging a fire. If the needle doesn't move, I would suggest you get some LEDs, and wire them into all 7 signals going to the ignitor. That will tell you if the signals are being sent properly

I think when there is an issue like this its either the ignition system, which in your case seems to be working, or the signals themselves.

It sounds like your cam and crank signals aren't getting recieved properly or aren't in sync. You mentioned your crank angle sensor is working, what about your cam angle sensor? And are they aligned properly. If those 2 aren't aligned properly then a lot of wierd stuff will start happenning. Are the injectors spraying? and do you have spark?

Sorry to thread jack but, My tach doesn't move at all and I know i'm getting signal because I checked the voltage on several wires to the ignitor and they are getting a little over 12v. What could be wrong? I know or atleast I think my ignitor is good I bought it from driftmotion. thanks for the help and again sorry for the thread jack.

How can I narrow this problem down?

if your ignitor isn't sending a signal to the tach, but it is receiving a signal, then one of two things are going on:

1. your ignitor is bad

2. The ignitor tries to fire the coil, but the coil won't fire, so the ignitor doesn't send a signal back indicating success.

ok, so there is fuel pressure... but i dont think there is any spark, so i have to check the CAM position sensor now, and then figure out y the hell i wouldnt have spark..
