so I've wanted to ask this question for a while... what is it? was is a stock toyota car? what are the differences between it and the ma70, jza70, and ga70? just wanted to know more about our legendary machines...
Sry if this is rude... but if you knew why'd you ask?supraman2251 said:^I know that
Sorry about that. I was in somewhat of a hurry when I read your first post.supraman2251 said:^I know that, and does anybody have any more info on the turbo A? what about the supra"R"
MA70 Turbo A- a homologation run of 500 cars for a Japanese road race series (not sure which one...),
7M-GTE equipped late '88 model (full '89+ body), sold only in Japan, black with black sawblades, grey leather interior, speed/density air metering (no AFM), larger/non-badged 3000 pipe, larger throttle body (65mm vs. stock 60mm, see rare parts forum), larger intercooler?, larger turbo (still baged CT-26, but compressor/turbine/housings are larger), Momo steering wheel/shift knob, front bumper duct (see post in rare parts forum), Turbo A badging (rear badge and 2 side door stickers)
MA70 Turbo S- a last ditch attempt by toyota to sell more 7M-GTE powered MKIIIs in late '89/early '90 in Japan, no real difference from the "normal" 7M powered MKIII, just the spiffy rear Turbo S badge
JZA70 R- R denoting the Recaro interior (black/grey seats and trim), Torsen differential (4.10 ratio in manual transmissioned cars, 3.91 in auto transmissioned cars), Bilstein struts and different springs, Momo steering wheel and shift knob, 2.5 R rear badge

CassMori said:Can anyone confirm if the Bilstein struts/springs came only on the R model of the jza70?
edit: I've found that it seems the same suspension came on the Turbo A. But I still haven't found if it was on any other jza70 models.
Jeff Lange said:The Turbo A did not have special shocks, it had the same shocks as other non-TEMS equipped MA70's in Japan.
The Twin Turbo R was the only A70 that got the Bilstein shocks.
