I must say I like the look of em, but you see, are they really practical? Isn't it hard enough to get into normal doors, and getting into these seems more complicated, cause you don't really have room( as I see on the pics). Correct me if I'm wrong
This particular kit is ajustable all the way up to 90 degrees, so if I want I can have the doors open 100% vertical, which should make it easy to get in and out of the car. This kit works by opening up the door a little bit sideways like normal, then it swings up so the factory latch and weatherstripping will work properly.
It is definately a major install job with proper welding required. I'll post pics during the install!
I personally don't like the fact that they open like normal at first, then go up, but that's just me.
It would totally kick ass though if they were completely electrical. One press of a button on your remote, click-bzzzzzz, door open. Climb in, press a button, bzzzzzzzzz-click, door closed :naughty:
u have to have exterior door handles in case u crash so the paramedics can get in the car, i kno people who have gotten away with it on test and tune/street nights but its in the NHRA rules so u cant compete
I think if you like em...thats all that matters. Its your car afterall. I think they would be cool, but I wouldnt do it unless I could make all the parts from stuff I pick up at Home Depot
when you install them can you do me a favor and measure what the highest point on the door is when its opened up in relation to the ground? the reason i'm asking is because i park my car in a garage that doesn 't have the highest ceiling (it's like 8.5 or 9 feet high) so if i get them i want to be able to open the doors to get out ..... it would suck if i had to push my car in and out of my garage everytime LOL
It would be complicated to get back in unless you had a windows-down module on your alarm as well. It might be easier to just use the adjustment screw to reach the max height of your parking garage and live with it at that setting. I'll be doing this install probably in November or December, possibly with Randy' help (BIC Performance)
i think they look HOT on an mkiii
the only thing i dont like is trying to pull the door down after you've gotten in.
and thats with only one shock per door. good luck W/two:naughty:
i've seen pic's of that blue car before and no idea it had the lambo door's.the only thing i would change on that car would be the wing, unless it's capable of 200mph.
