fuel cut or need tires??? car skips at wot?

well have i finaly experience fuel cut?

my car skips like im losing traction at the back(i need new tires so im not sure if its juts tires)

but could it also be fuel cut? i feel skips more than once at wot and full boost?

heres my mods
-BIC 3" dp(NOT DDP) with built in elbow
-gutted stock cat
-stock cat back exhaust
-modified intake with stock filter(k&N in about a week)
-really good stock turbo(very minimal play)
-shimmed turbo by 5 washer so 10 psi...

at full boost my car read 10 so im right on target...


is fuel cut a one time skip or it just skips and skips?

cause my car skips more than once...

any input would be nice

I wouldnt know personally, but it sounds like fuel cut I guess.

Also, you arent supposed to do more than 3 washers or so I thought? Just get a PTI MBC off of eBay for $15 (I have one that works fine) or one from Dr. Jonez, I hear he makes one.

fuel cut feels like ur hitting a wall...like your letting off the gas very quickly except much worse you can hear the engine cut off too...you will know if u hit it lol

FC feels like youre hittin a wall. When this "skip" happens, do your revs go up at all or do they drop? If they go up then it sounds like your clutch is slipping but if not, sounds like misfire. Explain "skips" in more detail. Its hard to diagnose over the itranet.

Fuel cut isn't a little thing... it feels like you simultaneously took your foot completely off the gas AND tapped the brake during full acceleration.

I thought fuel cut occurs around 13 or 14 psi, or am I wrong?

fuel cut isn't at a set PSI

I've hit 14 PSI before without hitting fuel cut (damn it felt good too!)
but i've also hit fuel cut at 12 psi

The check engine light comes on (briefly) when you hit the fuel cut. It isn't based on boost pressure, it is based on airflow seen by the ECU.

Also you will get a diagnostic code 34 stored in your ECU

based on the discription it sounds like its NOT fuel cut...

everything seems to work... my speed and tac goes up like it should...

although it could be the clutch sliping but i doubt it... i just replace the clutch stuff(cover/plate and flywheel) like maybe 8-10k miles ago...

-or could this be the actual tranne itself? im having abit more kick back when shifting to second...

-could this be my deferencial?(not working properly)

and it preaty much goes like this...

at start the car takes off good... then on third or higher gear or second sometimes... at wot and at boost or full i get this skip skip feel... its like im putting my foot on the brakes at but very lighly and quick...

then stops... most of the times it does it...

does my car just need tires or its something else?

Sounds like its misfiring. Check/replace your plugs, etc.

It must be misfiring something bad to makee it feel like that. Ive ran into miss firing and fuel cut and miss firing isnt that bad. Fuel cut feels really bad.

how are your rear suspension bushes?
i had this a while ago... all my bushes were naffed and causing the whole car to jitter on wot, generally it actually happened coz i hit bumps so on the drag strip it was sweet hehe

in the higher gears it may be fuel cut, ive had instances where you barely hit fuel cut and it doesnt hit like a brick wall, but just slightly since airflow is borderline fco. With your mods, and the creep you can get from washers its entirely possible, see if a code 34 has been stored.
