What I would like to know:
- Turbine A/R you have...does the turbo plateau at higher RPM
- Start spool to full boost RPM range
- Boost psi at start to full boost psi and how fast it tracks RPM
- Type exhaust manifold...divided or undivided
- Manual or an auto tranny
- How it compared to a previous turbo...like a GT35R or T04 series (if you had one)
- Dyno RWHP attained.

I've looked at the compressor map for this turbo and have a good idea of how it *should* respond.
Please keep speculation to a minimum...I want experience here to see if theory matches reality.

Hey John, I think Anthony (quickstrike) ran that turbo prior to his gt4067R, and maybe Martin (Bondango) in the UK has run that turbo as well. Send Anthony pm, and I will shoot Marty an e-mail for you.

What about guys that have this turbo on a 2jz? I know of at least one, but I'm sure he'll be chiming in sooner or later.

Did have the PT 4088 non R .81 before it shit itself - Precision woudnt stand by the warranty so i lost out big time
by shipping it back to them :(
She was seeing boost at around 3.5K, and hit hard at around 4.3K, and at 22psi your looking at 550+hp and 500+ torque.

The R version should see a gain of around 400rpms on the spool, as we run one on the mkiv wich used to run a non R
and the spool is around 600-700 sooner, so the 7M should be just over half that :)

Marty

Here is some info from Bondango John.

The first parg. is from his 7m.

He had a 4088 on a mk4, then switched to a 4088R and it spooled 6-700 sooner.

Thanks for the link...pretty interesting comparison.
I'd like to see how the 4088 behaves on the 7M though ;)

Sure would like to hear from the guys that have this turbo! ;)

And, thanks for the inputs so far.

(I hit boost cut right where I have the time line. Also I stepped on it in second gear, so the pulls are in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.)

At 18 psi, my max power was 431rwhp. I am going to be on the dyno again tomorrow at a higher boost though.

I haven't had any other turbo to compare it with.

Hopefully that will help you out :icon_surp

Yes! It does...thanks!
That's the same AR turbine housing I'm looking at ;)

When do you see initial spool on this turbo and when does it go into full boost RPM wise?

What kind of exhaust manifold?

I added some more stuff to my post including a picture of my exhaust manifold, and I would have to say that the boost really starts pulling on around 3500 to 4000 and full boost is shortly after around 4500, maybe even before. Once it's going, it pulls :D

Thanks again...is there a divided housing on the turbine housing as well?

I was hoping this turbo would spool a bit sooner...what you posted is right in the range of other guy's experience.

Your set-up looks nice ;)

Yea it has some lag, but we are practicing with a 75 shot of N2O to get it sooner, but that's still just for fun. I don't think its really that bad because once you are in boost and pull to about 6k and shift to keep going, your boost is still going to be there, and I shift with the 2step on that way I can power shift and not loose boost. But I still let off a little in between shifts sometimes and the power is there.

And neither me or my dad can remember if it is a divided housing on the turbine housing, he says he thinks it's not divided but he's not 100%

No it's not bad at all. I'll be running a built auto so there will be no worries about losing boost on the shift. I have a 3000-3200 torque converter...that will help getting boost off the line. Watched the vid...she sure sounds good too ;)

This turbo started spooling at 2700rpms for me and made 479rwhp at 22psi with a failing TPS signal by 5500rpms. MY Cardomain has the dyno map. Blackdevil supra made 560rwhp at 21lbs of boost with a log type T4 manifold, and a .81 rear turbine housing. Mods were built motor .040 over, ported head with 1mm os vales, and 4" exhaust, FFI, Q45 TB. Serach blackdevillsupra to see his dyno map. On his car the GT4088 journal turbo made full boost by 4200 rpms spooled at 2200rpms.

My mods were greddy replica T4 manifold 3" exhaust, stock rebuilt head, .81 ar turbine housing, .040 over bored block foward facing FFI, Q45TB.

This is the smallest turbo you want when driving you make loads of power. I whupped on all kinds of Corvettes with this turbo including running down a 2007 zo6
