i have absolutely no clue how to anchor it. if i put a screw in the stock location down near my ebrake, itll be ok, but i need to find somethin solid to anchor it to up top near the vents.

I'd probably measure the placement and depth of the standoffs (with the spring clips) and epoxy some acrylic of FG standoffs on the new panel. You can then drill a couple small holes and use some thin pieces of spring steel (rod), music wire, memory wire, etc, to clip it on.

that might be an idea. ill have to give it some thought. i suppose double stick tape from 3m is an option too. ugh.

How about cutting out the standoffs/clips from the old panel, measuring the depth and cementing them to the new one?

I wasn't sure what shape the original was in. Personally I'd try to mount it as close to stock as possible... removing it, if it's too well adheared with 3M tape, could be problematic in the extreme.

my best bet might be to drill and tap some holes for small (but lengthy) allen head screws. i forget what their name is, but they'd be the button head/cap screws.
