Now it was time for the fuel tank.
I didnt want to install the tank until I got the harness, but the tank stops
me from getting the car down on the floor.
Since the part of my burnt harness that goes under the floor to the tank is
ok I just re-loomed it so that I could install the tank.
In the last pic you can see the clearance with the straps in their lowest position.
This means that there won't be any problem to install the battery in the
rear like I wanted.

The exhaust is now ready to be installed. I had to cut off two studs when I removed it.
The studs hold an exhaust hanger to the exhaust so I installed it with the welder.
A weld for one of the heat shields was broken so I re-welded that.

I also installed some fuel tank protection, tightened the straps and installed the fuel hoses.

Today I wanted to torque the drive axles, but to be able to do that I needed to bleed
the brakes.
This was all done thanks to my girlfriend who steped on the brake pedal.
To torque the drive axles I first torqued it all the torque wrench could do
and after that I put a pipe on a regular wrench and torqued it some more.

When everything near the rear subframe was done I could install the exhaust.

I also installed some of the exterior. The side pieces for the wing and the rear bumper.
Still need to screw the bumper to the rear wheel house edges.

Today I started with changing the spark plugs, the old ones did not look good
at all. They had been in the car for at least 2 years.

Then I got a nice phone call :) It was a person I have been trying to reach for a while
because he had a rear harness that he could sell to me.

Later that night I went to pick it up.
It was a big garbage bag that he handed over to me...it contained more than the rear harness :)
It was the complete harness from an entire car. But an early mk3 so some plugs are not correct.
He had also found me a driver side door card in good condition.

When I got back to the garage I quickly emptied the entire bag on the floor and started comparing
the plugs in the rear harness. The only ones I had to change were the ones for the driver seat
and I had to add my fuel tank harness.

When the harness was in place I could install the passenger seat.

My goal for today was to get it of the jackstands.
So I had to check everything, so that I haven't forgotten anything.
I did a final test run of the motor as well.

Since my bimetallic vacuum valve is broken and nothing is connecting
the charcoal canister with the fuel tank I decided to plug the hose
going to the bimetallic valve at the throttle.

I also wanted to know if I could change the front indicator lights
without reaching in from the inside and this became a good opportunity
to test fit the new ones which in my opinion looks better than stock.

The rear bumper is now screwed to the rear wheelhouse edges with
selftapping screws. After the holes had been made I dipped the screws
in undercarriage paint to protect the bare metal in the holes from rust.

Then it was time...
The lug nuts and wheels came out and got mounted.

I was a little bit scared when I was about to lower the car.
I thought that I was being careful when I decided to lower a wheel
at a time. What I had forgotten was how fast the jack was.
I started with front right and before I knew it, the car was only cm
away from me balancing on two jackstands.
I had to raise it up again and lift it in the front subframe and
then in the diff.
I was relieved when it was down on all 4.

Ever since I bought it I haven't taken of the targa so I had to
test this and since it's been up on jackstands for 2 years I had
to take a little test drive.

The test drive wasn't far, only about 1m :) But it felt great!

I'm currently installing my new 2-way alarm which forced me to check why the
central locking didn't lock both doors, only the driver door.
In the pics you can see what I found, one of the pins was corroded off.
Bypasing the plug confirmed this.

Can you spot the problem?

How about now?

To fix the broken pin I unsoldered it and soldered a piece of wire
directly to the board. Using regular one pin plugs I can connect it
to the correct wire on the outside.

I couldn't indicate turning right so I had to take apart the combination
switch and clean it.

Today me and my garage neighbor did most of the packaging.
We pushed his car out and got most of our parts into boxes.

My friend had already picked up his boxes when I arrived and was loading his car outside.
Before I continued packing I wanted my car to be completely drivable.
I managed to do this and late at night two friends came by and we took the supra out for
a real test drive ;)
Since my toe angles were off in the rear, the rear was continuously moving to the left
and right while driving on the road.
We managed to get to the pump station so that we could fill the fuel tank.
The alarm was being a bitch during the whole trip so one of my friends who were
in the passenger seat had to continuously press on the disarm button to stop the alarm
from setting off. My other friend was following us in his car.
On the way back we did some fun driving in an industrial area. My friend teached my
the basics of drifting since it was my first time with rwd in snow :p
It was great fun! I loved it!

When we got back to the garage we had some trouble getting the supra inside.
My two friends had to sit in the trunk and then jump out and push the final dm.

After that with a memory that I will have for the rest of my life I got my boxes
ready to be moved tomorrow.

champion spark plug on import it wasent a good choise
you made a very good job your near to drive it on daily

They ran pretty good. Some PO installed them for more than two years ago.
Since I have been owning this supra for two years and never changed them
I don't know for how long they have been in there.
Just a look at the compairisson between the old champion and new ngk
says a lot on how long they have been in there.

man you got some work done nice! Whats next?

Thank you :)

The list is still long, but I will focus on things in the engine bay
before I continue with the rear panels and the body work.

During the winter I want to:
Install new adjustable coilovers since the current ones are shot.
Install all of the parts for the full flow oil system.
Install new IC and IC pipes
Build and install a new exhaust.

For all of this except for the coilovers I have the parts so currently
I'm waiting on another spot in the new garage so that I can have both
cars there.

I'm also thinking about going to the inspection with it to see if I have missed
something, then I have the winter to fix it.

The alternator in my daily went out yesterday so I lost a day with the supra fixing that.
Removing and installing an alternator in an volvo 850 is not very fun when it's about -7*C
but I succeded so that I could come back to the garage today.

Today I needed to install everything that was left and fix the small problems while the
car is inside.

The problems are:
I only have high beam
license plat lights does not work
left rear toe in is to much

The problem with the license plat lights were a broken wire and corrosion.
The wire and one of the lights was easy to fix. The other one got some more electronics
cleaner to soak in till tomorrow.

Adjusting the toe in is pretty straight forward and it looks like it's ok now.
This is just so that I can drive it a little. The plan is to upgrade to adjustable
coilovers during the winter so I will hold off on an adjustment till they are installed.

The hig beam problem lies in the combination switch so I brought this home to fix.
