Just put my engine together runs great except that it sounds like a deisel.
I pulled the valve covers and found the clearances to be .019 to .021 on the exhaust side. I am thinking that when the machine shop "rebuilt" the head they probably cut .010 off all of the valve stems as this would be standard procedure on an American V8.
Anyone else have this happen?
Do they make oversive adjustment shims?
