so i was thinking of buying a BIC DDP for the supra since I hear they work wonders. I have 2 quick questions though
1.With the DDP and my mods(tanabe catback, apexi intake, mbc) will I be hitting fuel cut?? I don't have the upgraded injectors, fuel pump and all that stuff and don't have the money yet to buy it. With it installed and mabye turning my boost controler down I shouldn't hit fuel cut just with that right???
2. how do I order one?? I looked at BIC website but found no where to paypal the money too???

Fuel cut is determined by air flow through the AFM...it will depend on how much the DDP affects turbo spool. And, yes, you can turn down the boost to keep the ECU out of fuel cut. Use caution running boost at near fuel cut...if you lean out the motor without the supporting fuel mods, it's a sure fire way to FUBAR a piston(s).

with those mods, the boost will be pretty close to fuel cut, and you can't "turn it down" with a boost controller. as long as you have no boost leaks and the car is running good, you shouldn't hit fuel cut.

If he increased his boost using a MBC (not shims), yes he can "turn it down" by turning the adjustment valve more closed and decreasing the amount of bleed allowed by the MBC.

really, if you turn the boost up you can turn it back down? better spread the word. :aigo: we can call it the jdub mod since you just invented this, and i bet no one else anywhere knows about it.

does he need a tube sock to turn it back down though? i get all my tube socks from cedric, maybe he can set up a group buy and you can do a write-up on how to turn the boost up, and then back down.

a boost controller can't make the car boost lower than it would with no boost controller. this was the point of my last post.

While it may seem obvious to you in my time here I've come to realise we have a LOT of Ultra Novices here that JDub's info would help!

You can either make fun of noob questions or you can do as JDub has done and supply an answer that will help them even if it's obvious to the rest of the guys!

Don't need the sarcasm dude :3d_frown:

If someone has a MBC installed, one has to assume that it's for increasing boost above stock. A DDP with his mods and no boost controller (boost at stock levels) would not even come close to fuel cut.

And this is what you posted:

You said that you could not turn down the boost with a boost controller...well, you can if you have the boost above stock. Anyone knows you cant go below what the what the min allowed on the stock waste gate. Maybe you should take the time to be a little more clear when you post.

Edit: And thanks IJ ;)

more people know that you can turn a boost controller down after you have turned it up than people who think that you can run like 5psi on an sp61 if u have a boost controller.

not everyone knows you can't go below what the wastegate is set, i've heard it a few times before. but find one person on this board who thinks that once you turn up the boost you can't turn it back down

Then why didn't you say that to begin with :3d_frown:
I didn't hit you with sarcasm, but you felt the need to hit me...personal attacks do not help.

I try to make my posts perfectly clear...if it sounds basic, well that's better than talking over someone's head. This is not rocket science, but we are discussing problems over a forum using the written word...clarity is the key to getting the idea across.

I realize what a boost controler actually does thats not my question, Im wondering If i will be hitting fuel cut with these mods ok...

That depends on how much you increased the boost with the MBC. The DDP will increase boost and decrease spool time...if you are hitting in the ~12 psi boost range now (with a stock AFM), adding the DDP will make you hit fuel cut.
