I recently got shafted by a seller on ebay who sold me an engine "recently rebuilt" described as in good condition. Long story short, after spending $$$ installing the engine, we find out the block is useless.

I tried looking for the writeup on blocks that I know is somewhere on this website but couldn't locate it that quick.

So I''m trying to find out,

I have a block that came off an 89 or 90 Cressida, can someone tell me if there are any issues using that block to rebuild an 88 turbo'd engine? I read somewhere that the NA did not come with oil squirters.

I appreciate any input,
Delmer.

a na block is fine to use, not all 7mgte blocks had squirters anyway. As long as the block has had all the usual checks and its in good shape of course.
From memory the cressida 7m had a front facing sump so youll have to use your other one and youll have to change your oil pressure sender as its a different signal as well. There may be a few other little differences that ive forgotten but the footys about to start so ill check up later...cheers

alright, thanks a lot.

I'll be using nothing but the block and the main caps, everything else i'm swapping out. except for maybe the water pump housing and the timing cover.

Now i just have to try and come up the extra $$ to slap in some Titan pistons and Eagle rods while we're at it. lol. save me some money later.

Thanks again.

IJ cant you get a sandwich plate for the base of the oil filter that has threaded holes to be used for the turbo oil return line? And sorry forgot about the drilling for the dipstick hole, State of Origin was on.:biglaugh:
