There was a bright blue 7M swapped S14 on ebay a year and a half ago. Talk about an ugly swap.. everything was cramped, but I'm sure it got the job done.

Will this myth ever be laid to rest?? :nono:

what myth? you mean the FACT that the 7m has a LOT more torque then the 1JZ..especially when modding it and getting up in horsepower. :dunno:

as for the 7m in a 240...ive seen an s14 with that swap before...done pretty cleanly also... ill bet it would move pretty nicely.

Any updates on this JT? I'm in love with the S14 body style but dont feel the need to waste money on a SR or RB when I have a 300rwhp 7mgte/R154 that would be sweet to drop in.

So the 89+ motor mounts are the same as the 1jz mounts? I know this thread is a couple months old but it deserves love!

7m does make more torque depending on the turbo. with the stock turbo at 300hp you're above 400ftlbs of torque

I decided that a 7M or 2JZ would weigh too much, I'm going to go with an
LS-1 V8 and 6-speed. I figure a very mild 400rwhp all motor, and then maybe
an twin turbo kit if I get bored. But for now it's just sitting outside waiting for
me to pay off my credit cards so I can start the project. I promised myself
when all my credit cards were paid off I could start on my 240 .

figured, the reason i picked up the 240, was because im getting tired of my 400-500hp cars that are good for only freeway pulls and wanna get back into drifting, i doubt the 7m is the best motor to put in it. Never should have sold my FC.

^ dont know about that, the full 2jzgte swap does weigh about 200 lbs more than the SR swap, it shouldnt be much more than the RB26 swap. With the correct suspension it shouldn't be too bad, though... If your planning on making an awesome handling 240 i doubt you would go with any thing other than an SR or KA-T for weight and power. I have some bills to pay before I even attempt to find a shell.

JT - how much does a LS1/6 speed weigh approx? 2jz with trans is at 600lbs.

Engine/tranny full weight flywheel, and all accessories weighs 300lbs LESS than
the motor in the 340 (797lbs vs 496lbs)

it actually weighs around the same as an SR20 with the turbo and cast manifolds
etc.

on a coupe, it should make the weight very nice, and a few light weigh mods
the car can weigh about 2300lbs fully trimmed out (it weighs 2590 now!)

I figure 2600lbs, fully trimmed, with me in it, full tank of gas, etc, and about
400-450rwhp and a flat torque curve will make it a very fun car for the road
course. and LS-1's LOVE N20, so I could throw a 150 shot on and not hurt
the motor at all. the Zo6 supposedly weighs 3200lbs dry, so the 240 would
have the the same motor, and 900lbs less weight. fast methinks .
