New Q's: Who knows the confirmed open loop percentage?
I'm estimating to setting my Hi throttle to 40% and leaving the low at default of 10%

Also... I've only run the car wot in 1st and 2nd. If i tune the safc for those gears will 3rd differ much? I noticed when my car was running previously that i wouldn't hit fuel cut till 3rd gear so that suggests more air. If i try to street tune 3rd n 4th gear i would be doing excessive speeds and i'm not overly comfortable doing that :(

Thanks for any help :D

When you first selected your settings for the safc so the car would start do you remember what your max voltage was for the tps?

When you change the monitor settings to view throttle position do you remember what it said when you went full throttle (ign on only of course, kinda hard to watch that when actually going wot hehe)

My voltage at wot is 3.4v and the first time i viewed the tps when closed and open my wot was only 69%

I went into the etc area and did the closed for 10 secs and open for 10 secs a couple of times but made no difference.
I go back into monitor view and decide to just hold my foot wot forever, eventually the safc wound up to 100% and seems to be remembering it. If i open the throttle slowly when i reach max it's only 97% ish but that's better than 69% lol. When mashing it immediately goes to 100%.

So does everything sound ok? I thought the tps went to 5v when wot?

Thanks :)

SAFCII learns its min and max range for the TPS. Every TPS is different at min and max. 0V-5V is just a standard, never really is that.

For instance mine at closed throttle was .560V and 3.7x at WOT with NO code 51. If i even moved my throttle to .565V id get code 51.

BTW, its very sensitive, so when you THINK you're full throttling it, press it just a bit harder and i bet it will hit 100% if its not already there.

Ahhh okily dokily :)
I was uber pushin that pedal into the firewall lol, first time 69% that was it. After holding the pedal down it was slowly climbing to 100% and finally got there (about 30 secs)

My voltages on my 1uz are almost identical to yours so that's a bonus :D

With the ne points and tuning i have a couple of questions.
Just say for example we start at 2000 and go in 1k increments, does the safc only tune at 2000rpm then ecu does its normal from 2100 - 2900 or does it keep that af for the whole range till the next point?

I was thinking of tuning from 3500rpm to 6500rpm in 250rpm increments, or should i do it in 500rpm increments?

Thanks :D :)

when you set 5% at 2k and 10% and 3k, it creates a 'wave' between the 5% and 10% when you accelerate from 2k to 3k. i hope that makes sense.

basically your tuning everything, not just the rpm thats on there.
i tune from 800-6500

how many steps are there again? i forgot? like 10?

i go up in 600rpm increments from 800 so...

800
1400
2000
2600
3200
3800
4400
5000
5600
6200
6800

i like to keep the steps up consistant as i find it easier to tune that way, because if you go from 800 to 2000, its a large 'wave' the safc has to make for the car, and your ecu may not like that wave! haha

and what are you throttle % set at? like 40 / 60? or what?

what were you told to set low to? 68% souunds kinda high... but every car is a little different.

are you using a SAFCII or a Neo?
cause the SAFCII only goes in 200RPM increments... haha

Yep safc II, ahh the 2000 increment thing i didn't expect, i hadn't tried adjusting yet.

I'm not changing low at all, my only problem is open loop, closed is fine :)
Yea i thought 68 was a bit high, i think i'll go somewhere in the 40's but i'll find out where open is on the dyno :D

I believe it's factory for now, I was told to set Hi to 68% but i think i may go into open loop before then but i'm unsure.

Maybe i'll just go with 500rpm increments and there's 12 points :)

In regaurds to both responses. For one, tuning above 5600RPM (at least on a 7m) is useless. I can't remember exactly why, something to do with how the computer sends the signal after that point. INSMS wrote about it i believe and he's pretty much a pro when it comes to this stuff.

As far as high throttle point IIRC anything above approx. ~75% is considered open loop mode for the ECU so that's the high throttle point you want.

i always do third on a long straight, flat back road that you can see for awhile. 2nd i didn't have enough traction, plus in third you can start from a slow roll and build boost more steadily at lower RPMs unlike 1st or 2nd.
